Remote Hams (a.k.a. RCForb Client)
Band Conditions – The season’s band conditions have continued to negatively impact our net. We’ve been using Remote Hams to help and must recognize both W8RJ and KY4JLS for their making their radios avaible. Upon occasion, we have used the KY4JLS remote to call the net. So, check us out via Remote Hams and for more information or to obtain RCForb, see www.remotehams.com. Take note too of the Smartphone option now available.
KD0HII – In late September, W8RJ helped KD0HII complete the setup of the Remote Hams server on his equipment. The intention is to ensure that CARF members have a remote to use in case other remotes are unavailable. It is hoped that this option will be fully functional before year end; however, KD0HII reports that vocational effort, fatherly duties, and Harry Homeowner stuff are precluding working on this setup. So, stay tuned for updates!
